It is so hard to put into words what Saint Tower Academy has done for my family.  My son and daughter both attend this school and have loved every minute.  They both tell me daily that the teachers are fair, loving and they care about me.  My son told me that for the first time in years that he is interested in writing again because when he first started at Saint Tower Mr. Burns encouraged him again.  Mr. Burns also showed my son to believe in himself again. The love and compassion and respect that Mr. Burns and his staff have shown my children have even changed the dynamics of our family life because the children are so much happier. Read More »

“Didn’t hurt,” I say.

He smiles again. “I’ll have to get a paintball gun, then.”

“Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich?” I ask.

“Chris Christie!” He shoots back.

“That’s just because you like his name!” a student from the back of the room chimes in.Read More »

Guest post for Chris Johnson – QuickSchools Teacher of the Year 2012 nominee

This is a guest post from a past student at Cornerstone Christian Academy in support of Mr Chris Johnson’s nomination for the QuickSchools Teacher of the Year award.

I don’t even know the extent to which Mr. J. has influenced my life. There’s no way to see what my life would look like if he hadn’t been a part of it, but I know it would be extremely different. Not only was he my coach and my teacher for five subjects, but he was also the cornerstone for my conservative world-view. If it wasn’t for him, maybe I would even think that socialism is good and that guns are evil (instead of people).
