Franklin L. Burns is an exceptional teacher and person. He opened up his own school in 2007 to aid the community and those families in need. He did not even take a paycheck the first 12 months because he believed in the cause and saw the vision of the school. He is dubbed the “child whisperer” by his peers because he can take a child that every other person has had difficulty disciplining and educating and make that child thrive in all academia. He holds seminars regarding child behavior and positive discipline in the community. He has undoubtedly the most positive attitude and has done many hours of community service. He deserves Quickschools Teacher of the Year Award.

Chris Johnson is a Rockstar Teacher!

Mr Johnson teaches high school History, English, Bible,  PE and K-12 Chapel. Here’s a beautiful profile crafted by the Cornerstone team.

Mr. J., as the students call him, is indeed a teacher, a remarkable one at that, but it goes far beyond that. Chris Johnson founded the school in 1983. He has worn many hats since that day, and continues to wear them today. As well as the subjects mentioned, he also is the Principal, Counselor, Soccer Coach, Business Manager and Man for any maintenance in the century and a half old building. After 29 years he still arrives early and is the last to turn out the lights at night. When the average tenure for private school teachers and administrators is 3 years, he has been on the job since day one and never taken a sick day.Read More »

It’s not too late to submit your nominations. Remember, the winner will receive a New iPad (iPad3). Show your support for your favourite teacher, by nominating them for the award.

QuickSchools Teacher of the Year award details

We’re excited to announce the launch of the inaugural QuickSchools Teacher of the Year award. We’ve designed this ‘contest’ so that it can be fun and open for everyone to join in easily. We hope this will be as much fun for you as it is for us.

To get things going, we’ve made the nomination process very easy. Just enter your nomination by filling out the form below. Nominations close at 11.59 pm PST on April 15, 2012.

After we’ve received all the nominations, we’ll share each awesome teacher’s profile and invite you to campaign and vote for your favorite candidate. You are welcome to share stories and experiences about your candidate, so that others can appreciate your candidate better. Everyone will have 4 ways of voting:

1 – Leave a comment on the teacher’s profile page for 6 votes
2 – Tweet the teacher’s profile page for 4 votes
3 – Share/Like the teacher’s profile (via Facebook) for 4 votes
4 – Put together and share a video or article for 20 votes

50% of the evaluation will be based on the votes. So, make sure you get everyone at the school, parents and friends to vote for your favorite teacher!

The campaign period and voting closes on May 18th and the winner of the award will be announced on May 25th on our blog.
