Here we highlight a few sample scenarios, how teachers can communicate with students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Group Discussion<\/li><li>Discussing Assignments<\/li><li>Private Messaging<\/li><li>Announcements<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Group Discussion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201c<em><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2020\/03\/10\/class-discussions-as-a-mini-lms\/\">Class Discussion<\/a><\/em>\u201d feature (part of the \u201c<em><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2018\/09\/13\/keep-track-of-students-assignments-with-quickschools-homework-feature\/\">Homework<\/a><\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2020\/08\/19\/new-assignments-app-beta\/\">Assignments<\/a><\/em>\u201d modules) is a great way to discuss topics online. Only students enrolled into the class are able to post messages for any given subject:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/MJYi791gxEpqN5-buCXQKNgGvO-zMTqouSV5kbyqpXtneS1t7vBCSObP0f-MOzh0eLW0Wcf_hsM1CJcj9WIN4HCJd-1i1kqBAESbUHxzbZC40Pk0VJJyNzAW8bY76q6AFzBCvAuO\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"529\" \/><figcaption>Post Messages to Students via Class Discussions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a teacher, you can also post a new discussion thread to multiple subjects at the same time using the \u201c<em>Also post to subjects<\/em>\u201d box. Simply select one or more subjects from the dropdown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/ZKMjD7xUj8yA14Sr01s0XHD7EgWlff9llc4pzFnLJ2NPLqTvMTqCqvObwnS9XFJHu5AmI-j97QpByJtUevyyPYmKq6Vjm1WnWgkXr58Pj-R3jRxwHbDvZOGZlYvLTdkhzmB9ijDN\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption>Post Class Discussions to multiple subjects at once<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note: When posting a new discussion thread, teachers have the option to send out an email notification. And when users comment on existing threads, the original user are notified:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/uGFYy38cbKyckwN_acyQcI3LDG1f5S-2tzOdhiZPiYk5-Tr4cthyomrYo5vp9nNjgneNfFOyJVKmCCbhx9WTV3_-WscpZg90TVNb6Xm4iYyGtgH23OSGZdsoD7lQmWAHXXz67hWE\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption>Notifications for Class Discussions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Discussing Assignments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the new Assignments module, after a student submits an assignment, the student and teacher can chat online to discuss that particular assignment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/6d2g3uw_CWOPGNEW5_jJjzRSLDHCLcEuxhdj-RMq76srwZHo_q0cW-B_vu6QVmZsKnjw0csk5XgN0D51J0XNOro7sqAuPuZT5-lt_cZiuWe5-PUgKRyKDHXgIFadDzEqtyRA8K4j\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption>Discuss Assignments with Students<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similar to Class Discussion, when a user comments on an existing thread, the system notifies the original user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Private Conversations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If enabled, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2020\/09\/16\/private-messaging-a-summary\/\">Private Messaging<\/a> feature allows all portal users to chat online in QuickSchools. The Private Messaging feature also sends out email notifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/uEetZPQ7PlNeG7FqRINfIKdl-KLXSZeHT7oF7v7Zm1lzfTYocYA-wqB4W89S89kWjvGZ8tmeTsD-f5qSslR3ot468CNtBkuDI1MOUqIbeCp7vSr2VugZJLNe5zQlhJD1JbkuWHHX\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption>Private Messaging with Students<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the benefits of using this feature is that teachers don\u2019t need to expose their email address to students, in the event teachers are using their personal email to access QuickSchools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Announcements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, when it comes to broadcasting announcements, although this feature is traditionally for school administrators, teachers can also be allowed to send messages via email, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2018\/09\/10\/paid-mass-parent-messaging\/\">text<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2020\/04\/30\/voice-messaging\/\">voice<\/a>, via the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.quickschools.com\/2020\/05\/15\/mass-messaging\/\">Messaging Module<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/cZCN2GVat03Ui07yE4Nkoadq9ZhYud1qqG1ydh09gHfQX66o_xRZkibvW_RqaChYFVblYs8uoj6dxJTVRVQ1scI6fY_lie4iTWmr1LudrPFnAw9RNUOth04vSGm8j0Spz-nLjo2T\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption>Broadcast messages to Student via Text Message<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply select the appropriate subjects, and all students enrolled in the subject will receive the message, be it an email, text and voice message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are the main methods of interaction between students and teachers via the QuickSchools portals.
