There are various modules and features within <\/span>QuickSchools<\/span><\/a> that allow teachers to share information with parents who have access to the <\/span>Parent Portal<\/span><\/a>. Here we discuss a few of those features:<\/span><\/p>\n

Gradebook<\/b><\/h2>\n

In additional to sharing all gradebook information with parents, teachers can also add <\/span>public comments<\/span><\/a> on individual assignments, that will then be shared with parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Class Discussions<\/b><\/h2>\n

Class Discussions<\/span><\/a> allow teachers to interact with parents (and students) for a specific class via a chat-like timeline, including sharing pictures and files. There are <\/span>various scenarios<\/span><\/a> that can take advantage of this feature. You can even use it to <\/span>send emails to parents<\/span><\/a> (instead of using the <\/span>Parent Messaging<\/span><\/a> feature).<\/span><\/p>\n

Private Messaging<\/b><\/h2>\n

If the <\/span>Teacher Directory<\/span><\/a> is enable for the <\/span>Parent Portal<\/span><\/a>, teachers can communicate one-to-one with parents, without ever having to leave the <\/span>Teacher Portal<\/span><\/a>. All communications can be kept centralized in one place. Private Messages include <\/span>email notifications<\/span><\/a>, so you don\u2019t have to be logged in to receive messages. In some cases, Private Messaging is a great <\/span>alternative to Mass Parent Messaging<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other Modules<\/b><\/h2>\n

There are several other modules that share information with parent, with little additional effort from teachers. These include modules like <\/span>Attendance<\/span><\/a>, Discipline, Homework, Lesson Plans and Schedule. <\/span><\/p>\n

Several apps from our <\/span>App Store<\/span><\/a> also have Parent Portal components, like <\/span>Lunch Ordering<\/span><\/a>, and the <\/span>Merit App<\/span><\/a>. Please reach out to your school administrators, if you\u2019d like to see better engagement with parents via these new apps.<\/span><\/p>\n
