We\u2019ve been building out from our Lesson Plans by Subject<\/a> and Lesson Plan Dates<\/a> updates and have some cool new views to share. These work with the Lesson Plans by Subject<\/a> feature and allow teachers to view a long-term calendar of lessons as well as copy them forward from the school archive of past terms\u2019 lessons. Here\u2019s a quick look at the setup.<\/p>\n

The Lesson Plans by Month view works a lot like the the Lesson Plans by Subject<\/a> view, and even the Gradebook<\/a>. Simply select a subject that you\u2019re teaching and the lesson plans you have setup for the current term view will appear on their lesson date. Also, you can mouse over a day, click the \u201cAdd Daily Lesson\u201d button to add a new lesson for that day.<\/p>\n

You can drag and drop the lesson around to a different day, and right click to edit the lesson:<\/p>\n

\"Edit<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, one of the coolest features of the by Month view is that \u201cCopy Lessons\u201d button at the top. It directs you to a wizard that helps you migrate past terms\u2019 lessons forward so as to view and update lessons for a new term.\u00a0From the wizard, you can select which term and subject you\u2019d like copy forward from the archive.<\/p>\n

Then, the calendar is autofilled with your copied-forward lessons:<\/p>\n

Now, you have a long-term view of an updated lesson set!<\/p>\n

\"Final<\/a><\/p>\n

For reference, here\u2019s a quick checklist of how to copy lessons forward from this view:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Select the semester for the archived lesson plans you want to copy into the current term<\/li>\n
  2. Select the subjects\u2019 lessons you want to copy forward. Any subject from any grade can be migrated into your current term.<\/li>\n
  3. Set a start date for the lessons – the lessons will copy forward in the same sequence as in the archive, starting on the day of the start date<\/li>\n
  4. Confirm copy<\/li>\n
  5. Drag-and-drop and edit lessons for the new term as you see fit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
