QuickSchools<\/a> is not just great for K-12 schools; we\u2019re great for all kinds of small schools, including trade schools and vocational institutes. If you have a school for adults, albeit a nursing school, a driving school, or a school for culinary arts, you can take advantage of QuickSchools<\/a> to keep track of performance and communicate with all your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first time you sign up for a free QuickSchools trial, you\u2019ll notice that your account is configured for K-12 by default. But you can very easily change your settings to accommodate your particular type of school. Here are some steps to help you get started:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Turn on College Level Settings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To turn on the College Level Settings, click on the \u201cFeatures\u201d link on the top right, and then click on the \u201cEdit Overall Settings\u201d button near the top right:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, make sure you check off the \u201cTurn on College Level Settings\u201d check box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you save, you\u2019ll notice a new \u201cClass Setup\u201d menu along the top. Click there for the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Set up your Programs<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cClass Setup\u201d lists out all the grade levels in your school. But for the purposes of your school, you can use this to list out the programs that you offer. Here is an example below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t have any specific program, you can add something generic like \u201cGeneral\u201d. You will need at least ONE class to continue to the next step, which is under the \u201cCourses\u201d menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Set up your Courses and Enrollments<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under \u201cCourses\u201d > \u201cCourse Setup\u201d, you can create courses for each program. And each course may have several sections or offerings. In the example below, we have the \u201cElectrical Technical\u201d Program that has 3 courses. However, the \u201cWiring Standards & Practices\u201d course is offered at 2 different times, and a student would only be enrolled in either one of the section, although both are part of the same course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully, this example illustrates one way of organization your programs, courses and sections to suit your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve set up your courses, you can enroll specific students into specific courses \/ sections by clicking on the link under the \u201cEnrollment\u201d column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simply search and select a student from the \u201cEnroll Student\u201d box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you can use the \u201cEdit\u201d button to change \/ reassign the course to specific instructors. And know that if need be, you can also assign multiple instructors to the same course section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With subjects and enrollments all configured, you can then continue to use the various other areas of the software, like the gradebook, the report cards, messaging, as well as the student portal, just to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
