Hello all,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it\u2019s been a while since we last posted an article on our QuickSchools<\/a> blog<\/a>. Believe me, there are a tonne of improvements coming very soon, but we\u2019ve just been too busy to tell you about it. The HTML5 release is in its final stages of beta testing. In fact, all new trial accounts<\/a> automatically get the new HTML5 version. Existing subscribers can request to be transitioned to the new HTML5 version whenever they\u2019re ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let\u2019s go over some new improvements in the transcripts module. Here\u2019s a screenshot of our new \u201cBasic Transcript\u201d template that will be replacing the \u201cGeneric Multi-page Transcript\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n

New Basic Transcripts on HTML5<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Here are some highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Fields can be hidden or renamed (just like the Report Cards). If you need a new field, let us know, and we may be able to add it for you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Transcript automatically displays subjects and grades from your gradebooks. These subjects can be hidden or sorted as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Transcripts also support calculated values like Earned Credits and Grade Point Average (GPA).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You can manually add additional semesters, subjects and grades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Additional non-grade sections can be added, hidden or customized. This includes shared (templatized) sections (like Graduation Requirements), as well as student specific sections (like Awards and Accomplishments).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    There are a few key differences between the Transcripts and the Report Cards which I\u2019d like to mention:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Displays grades\/assessments for one marking period, or one academic year<\/td>Displays grades\/assessments for multiple academic years<\/td><\/tr>
    Can be published to the Student and Parent Portals<\/td>Only accessible by privileged teachers\/users<\/td><\/tr>
    Report cards are archived (not editable) once the student record is deactivated<\/td>Transcripts are still editable, even after the student record is deactivated<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
