We\u2019re back to a normal flow for engineering improvements. Today\u2019s QuickSchools<\/a> release focuses on the Gradebook, with some minor improvements to the Master Scheduler, Attendance and API. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master Scheduler<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Relabel Step 4 button to \u201cImport External IDs\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Relabel the \u201cLock Sections\u201d checkbox in Step 2 to be more descriptive<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bug Fix \u201cBulk Course Requests\u201d in Step 2 for locked course requests in previous Enrollment Periods<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bug Fix Advanced Search in Step 5 for Students with unassigned duplicate course requests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Gradebook Improvements<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    • Low Grade Alert for Gradebook (see below<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Gradebook expanded option to share or copy columns between different subjects<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Bug Fix Minimum Score from Admin Column<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Option to submit grades from ALL gradebooks to Report Cards (Beta)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Option to bulk show\/hide Gradebook in \u201cManage Subject Availability\u201d (Beta)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • Bug Fix Teacher Listing when a school is removed from a Group School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Low Grade Alert<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        We have a new Alert for the Gradebook, allowing you to notify parents of low grades. This feature currently works only for the default Grading Scale. Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Enable the School-wide Alert under \u201cSchool Profile\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Configure the low grades under \u201cGrading Setup\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Notification for teachers when saving the Gradebook<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Notification for Parents<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Opting out of alerts for Parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Enable the School-wide Alert<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          Under \u201cSettings\u201d > \u201cSchool Profile\u201d, there is a setting under \u201cSchool-wide Alert Settings\u201d for \u201cGradebook – Low Grade Alert\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \"Enable<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

          The alert is disabled by default. You can opt parents in or out by default. Parents can still opt in\/out individually once the feature is enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          NOTE: This first version currently supports Email Alerts only. In the near future, we\u2019ll be adding support for this alert to the \u201cHome by QuickSchools\u201d Mobile App<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

          Configure the Low Grades<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          Under \u201cGrading Setup\u201d, there is a new setting called \u201cLow Grade Alerts\u201d where you can configure the Letter Grades and Codes that warrant an alert:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

          NOTE: For this first version, you can only select grades from the Default Grading Scale. However, the system will still match the selected Letter Grade to all gradebooks. This means that even if the teacher is using a different Grading Scale, as long as the Letter Grade matches, the system will still send an Alert. 

          Please let us know if you need the options expanded to additional Grading Scales.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

          Notification for teachers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          Once configured, whenever a teacher saves the gradebook, the system will check for low grades and notify the teacher that an alert will be sent. This is to allow the teacher to double check whether the grades were entered correctly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The teacher has the option to disable the notification for his\/her subjects. To enable the notification, click on the Gears icon and select \u201cShow \u201cSending Out Alerts\u201d Notification<\/em>\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Alert Message for Parents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          Here\u2019s what the alert looks like for parents who have opted to receive the alert:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Note here that for low grades, the system will include the name of the column. Here\u2019s another example based on a prescribed Gradebook Code:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          When using Gradebook Codes, the alert will include the full description of the code. The school should provide a suitable description for all codes, since these will be shared with parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Opting in\/out of alerts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          As with all School-wide Alerts, parents can opt in\/out of alerts on a per module basis under the \u201cAlert Preferences\u201d section of the \u201cSettings\u201d page in the Parent Portal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
