Taking attendance in QuickSchools<\/a>, whether it\u2019s homeroom-based or subject-based, is pretty straight forward. Just click on the appropriate Attendance menu, and click \u201cStart Taking Attendance\u201d.<\/p>\n

After that, a list of all your students will appear. From there, you can change the attendance record for a student, enter remarks, or if it\u2019s not a school day and you want to remove the attendance record for all students, simply click on \u201cNot a school day\u201d.<\/p>\n

Taking Attendance<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

If you\u2019re on the \u201cSubject-based\u201d screen, and the \u201cStart taking attendance\u201d button is greyed out, that means that you don\u2019t have any subjects scheduled today. If that is a mistake, you\u2019ll need to speak with your school administrator to fix it.<\/p>\n

If you are the school administrator, or an administrator for the attendance module, you\u2019ll need access to the \u201cAttendance Settings\u201d screen to edit the attendance schedule. Here\u2019s what it looks like:<\/p>\n

Setting up Subject-Based Attendance<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

By default, all attendance is homeroom-based and taken daily (D is for daily). P is for Period-based, which is still homeroom-based but with multiple periods. S is for Subject-based, and if you select this option for a particular grade, a \u201cConfigure\u201d link will appear. Clicking on the link will allow you to setup periods, and assign subjects to each period. The subject teacher would then take attendance based on students who are enrolled into that subject.<\/p>\n

You can use the boxes on top to set up the number of periods that day. Then click on a cell, and select the subjects from the dropdown. You can select multiple subjects if they are concurrent that period.<\/p>\n
